ABSTRACT Septy Kartikasari, 2015. Knowledge and Roles Relationships with Parents Election Tool In Childhood Educational Games Preschool Kakat, Kakat Penjalin, Ngimbang Lamongan. Essay Nursing Science Program, STIKES Muhammadiyah Lamongan, Surpervisor (1) Lilis Maghfuroh, S.Kep., Ns. M.Kes, Supervisor (2) Hj.Andri Tri Kusuma N, SSiT.M.Kes. Provision of educational toys for children ages preschool mostly stiil less according to age. Based on initial survey shows there are stiil parents who choose games that are not appropriate tools (70%). The purpose of this study is todetermaine the relationship between knowledge and roles of parents by election of educational toys for the preschool age children. Analytical methods research design uses a Cross Sectional approach. Samples by 30 parents with Simple Random Sampling technique. Data is taken with the questionnaire enclosed in Kakat, Kakat Penjalin, Ngimbang, Lamongan, February 2015 with the independent variable knowledge and roles of parents and the dependent variable election of educational toys, the analysis using SPSS For Windows version 16.0 using the Contingency Coefficient test with p < 0,05. Knowledge relationship of test result obtained by electionof educational toyscorrelation value of 0,531 with significance of 0,003 (p < 0,05). Then test the role relationship of the parents obtained by election of educational toys correlation value of 0,665 with significance of 0,000 (p < 0,05). This shows there is a relation of knowledge to the election of educational toys, and parents roles relationship with the election of educational toys, the direction of a positive correlation. Based on the result of research to increase the role of health officer (Nursing and midwife) in giving information to parents about the election of an appropriate educational toys.
